Credit hours will follow the MASMS standards, that are used for the certification program. On-line training offered by the Metro ECSU and Service Cooperatives will be recorded as 100% for credit hours.  All other on-line training will be recorded as 25% for credit hours.

If you choose to take any of the classes/workshops (listed here or others that you find), you must email the MASMS office with the following info:
  • Your Name and Email Address
  • Date you took the on-line course.
  • Title of the course and who offered it.
  • Length of the course.

Training Opportunities (Including Boiler Training) offered by the following:

Dakota County Technical College is offering a 32-hour Boiler Operator Exam Prep course that will ensure your success on the licensing exam with virtually no outside study time.  Whether you are taking a Minnesota Special Engineer or Grade C licensing exam, this course will cover what you need to know to pass your boiler exam. A comprehensive textbook, handouts and practice tests will be provided during class to ensure your success. This course includes at least one tour of the DCTC boilers room. THIS COURSE CAN BE TAKEN IN PERSON OR VIA ZOOM and there are immediate openings for the classes starting on 1/14/25 and 4/1/25. More information can be found at www.dctc.edu\boilers.
